EMPOWERING ABILITIES: A DAY OF HOPE & SUPPORT FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

Kevin Nyakundi is the first born in their family.He was born with cerebral Palsy the father chased the mother because of his condition.. Despite the challenges of being brought up by a single mum from humbled background Kevin is performing well in school and is Attending Joyland secondary special school in Kisumu county in Form2.. Support to him will enable him get educational support to become independent and improve the mothers livelihood and the younger brother.. They are currently staying in rented space in Obunga slums in Kisumu..100 USD on monthly basis will create great impact on Kevin’s life and the family kindly support Kevin

Aflyn is a teenage girl who was born with AUTISM and interllectual disability..She has no speech but has good receptive speech..She was brought to the center by children office from Homabay from safe center after being abandoned by the family..she has moved from several orphanages because of her condition they have not been able to accommodate her.. Support to her will assist in helping her become independent by nurturing talent and providing basic needs for her..She doesn’t have any family members that she can turn to .. Hellen Anyango is 36 years old..she was born with Cerebral Palsy..Her mother was chased away from the marriage because of her condition.. Finally the mother and other three siblings died ..Hellen remained under care of the relatives who are also straining to support their family..Hellen is wheelchair bound your support will help Hellen live a decent life like others and get basic needs to enable her survive.. Charles Omondi is 11 yrs old..He got Amputated in class two after snake bite which wasn’t treated in time..The mother separated with the father and life has not been very easy…I supported him get prosthesis limb and has improved his self esteem..He is having great talent in sports which we are nurturing..He is in school and doing well support to him will help make him independent and empowered to live his life to the fullest..100 USD on monthly basis will impact greatly on his life and siblings.

Joy Talia is 6years old.Joy was born and didn’t cry at birth also had jaundice days later..She had delayed developmental milestones with AUTISM traits and short Statue.. Through therapy Joy walked at 4yrs and developed speech at 5years..We enrolled her in school..The mother died after the father chased her away because Joy could not walk and talk like the agemates.. Lavender Akinyi 20 yrs old was born with short Statue and bone problem.. she went UpTo grade 5 then dropped out of school because of stigma and the distance of school from home she wasn’t able to access school because of mobility challenges.. She went through emotional abuse from the mum who has never understand her condition.. she has challanges in mobility hence uses crutches to support herself..She is good on hands-on skills with support she can be perfect..she braids herself and others..she does crocheting and cookery.. Alphonse Odhiambo Ondoro is 15 yrs old was born with sickle cell he has regressed and not able to walk without support of crutches.He is on and off in the hospital ..He is very bright and attend school but the distance from home to school is far making consistency hard..
